The Gruesome Animated Film Ending That Haunts Viewers

Out of all the mature cartoon movies I’ve ever watched, nothing has remained with me quite like the terror-laced conclusion of the explicitly bloody as well as highly provocative 2022 movie Unicorn Wars.

Back in the year 2015, this Spain-based filmmaker crafted a grim, somber and frequently brutal universe with some tiny , desolate twinges of hope.

While The Unicorn Wars feels like it came from a drive to expand animation even more, the filmmaker clarified that it was rather an effort to convey a global, multicultural theme concerning “the common origin of every conflict.”

That idea is communicated through a squad of brightly hued teddy bears , obviously based on a famous line of lovable figures.

Being raised in a community focused on aggression and the military-industrial complex, many of these creatures are consumed by slaughtering the mythical beasts, due to a holy book that tells them they previously were kings of the woodland, before these creatures drove them out.

Others did not entirely accepted the indoctrination, , prefer to try out drugs or fornicate outdoors.

Unlike their gentle counterparts, these colorful critters display sexual organs , clear urges.

For a particular notably brutal, cynical bear, the character Bluey, the war with unicorns transforms into a route toward dominance — and especially to authority above his more tender, nicer brother Tubby.

This bear acts as a tormentor , a seeming antisocial figure , and as fear dominates his group and claims his fellow soldiers individually, he grabs more and more influence for himself, via progressively bloody, damaging approaches.

Meanwhile, the unicorns are experiencing their own nightmare, as an expanding, destructive monster in their habitat.

“In the early stages, it feels like a humorous movie,” the director said. “But then it turns into a more intense and sad film. And in the finale, it’s a horror film.”

Unicorn Wars begins feeling a bit like among the quirky features from a legendary filmmaker, that uncover a naughty glee in allowing animated figures swear, shoot each other, or have intimate relations.

Afterward it evolves into something more like a bleaker work from that director, with increasingly graphic violence , a palpable link to the real suffering of conflict.

By the end, it is an outright theatrical horror carnage.

The fear that makes the film a perfect Halloween watch begins a lot earlier than one might expect.

The Unicorn Wars is suited for the hardcore fans of gore, for fans of intense movies who want to watch something they’ve never watched previously, and can endure a narrative which delivers no restraint.

See it in a dark room with no disturbances, and the conclusion will burrow deep within you and take up residence there.
