Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Premier League Predictions
The Gunners' 10-game victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international break, but can the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus AI, fans and a range of guests.
For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
The singer's new album, the new release, is out on the weekend.
Football and Family Experiences
Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."
Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.
"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer team," he said.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Forecasts
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.
West Ham's only away win this campaign came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was still that team's manager.
So, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?
I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.
A family member advised me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had much success on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will try to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six games.
They have have lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.
As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.
The away side's performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.
But I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.
Looking at the home side's home record, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
