Seamer Atkinson Adds to the English team's Injury Problems.
'Significant concern' for England as Atkinson leaves the field suffering a hamstring problem.
The English seamer further complicated England's injury problems after leaving the field early on day two in the Melbourne Test in the Ashes series.
The pace bowler pulled up with his hamstring after the final ball that he bowled at the MCG.
Team management reported Atkinson had experienced "tightness" and would spend time on the sidelines for further assessment "in the coming hours".
The final Test in this Ashes battle in Sydney begins this coming Sunday.
The English side has previously lost strike bowlers Mark Wood with a knee problem and Jofra Archer because of a side injury on the current trip.
A replacement bowler was called up as cover for Wood.
Atkinson struggled during the first two matches, taking just a handful of scalps.
He was omitted of the third Test, only to be brought back for the Melbourne Test in the playing XI.
The county bowler improved at the MCG, claiming a couple of wickets during the host's first knock, before adding 28 while batting being one of only three teammates who passed ten runs.
After bowling one over at the end of day one, he returned for the second day's play and dismissed the nightwatchman Scott Boland caught behind.
However, towards the conclusion of that over, he delivered a slower ball to Travis Head and immediately felt his left hamstring.
Atkinson returned to the side for the Melbourne match after being left out the previous Test.
