Netflix Casts Perfect Star for Bentham in One Piece Season 3

Baroque Works is geared up to make a major impact in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, though the major clash won’t unfold until the next season, and a cherished, popular member has now been chosen.

Netflix announced Tuesday that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will portray Bon Clay. Bon Clay has the ability to transform into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The actor, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will depict a version of that role re-envisioned as non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the original manga and cartoon version.

The new cast member joins several other recently announced actors tasked with bringing the organization to life, including leader Mr. 0, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who will appear as the cast as the monarch of Alabasta.

Though Bon Clay is a key figure of the organization, the individual won’t appear until One Piece the third season. Given the next season set to cover the Little Garden arc, this signals a notable change in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal additional alterations to the narrative framework.

Escola’s blend of precise humor and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the role. In addition to their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised characters.

The platform’s adapted One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its second season on March 10, 2026.
