Ex- Doctor Accused of Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Legal authorities report that a former physician has been charged with carrying out sexual assaults against 38 victims who were patients.
Details of the Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
A senior prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

Prosecutors outline the 45 sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
