American actor Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved television series such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA this Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, as reported by reports.

"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives stated in a message.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

An Extensive Television Career

His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the brother of the main character.

He subsequently landed a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.

He appeared as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.

In the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several popular shows, like:

  • "King of Queens"
  • "Friends"
  • "That '70s Show"
  • "House"

His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight series over nearly a decade.

His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Off-Screen Life

Beyond his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

"Pat coached, befriended and mentored many learners during his career and it's nearly impossible to find someone who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote on social media.

The actor is remembered by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
